Amateur Hour at CNN: Error-Filled Chyron During Beck Rally

Oh dear! Where do I begin?

Not only does this CNN news banner misspell “Sarah” Palin’s name and misidentify her as a former presidential candidate (rather than a former vice-presidential candidate), but the banner is used over footage of Glenn Beck.

Somehow, someone at CNN is getting canned for this faux pas.

Demotivational Posters: Richard Dawkins

There seems to be a lot of images comparing Pope Benedict XVI with Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars (example 1 and example 2), thus insinuating that, because the Pope looks like Emperor Palpatine, he’s evil like Emperor Palpatine.

I couldn’t help but notice that militant atheist Richard Dawkins also strikes an eerie resemblance to the Emperor. And so, for the sake of laughs and giggles, I decided to juxtapose the two together in three demotivational posters.

Demotivational Poster: Left-Wing Anti-Semitism

"Tell them [the Jews] to get the hell out of Palestine....[The Jews] can go home [to] Poland [or] Germany." - Helen Thomas

Why such a focus on the Holocaust then? “The Jewish domination of the media....There’s a major lobby in the United States. They are hard workers. They stay on top of every comment, the most powerful lobby in Washington. Israel has f***ed up United States foreign policy for years.” - Oliver Stone

If a right-wing journalist suggested that Mexican immigrants should get the hell out of America and go home to Mexico, there would be outrage from the left; yet when left-wing journalist Helen Thomas suggested that Jews “get the hell out of Palestine,” the outrage came primarily from the right, while the left tried their best to defend her.

If someone claimed that Jews controlled the mainstream media, that person would be assumed to be a right-wing fringe nut, perhaps even a Neo-Nazi skinhead; yet it was left-wing propagandist director Oliver Stone who claimed that “the Jewish domination of the media” was responsible for not only focusing United States foreign policy on Israel (and thus f***ing it up!), but also preventing Hitler from being taken “in context.”

Anti-Semitism has long been associated with the right, yet the two most anti-Semitic comments were made by those in the left wing. No surprise, considering how the left has been against the state of Israel (even though Jews tend to lean left, and Israel is primarily liberal).

Demotivational Poster: Hugh Hefner

Hugh Hefner

"The Hugh Hefner in this movie is Thomas Paine, Martin Luther King Jr., Mohandas Gandhi and William Kunstler all rolled into one."Michael O'Sullivan on the movie "Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel"

Thomas Paine was a revolutionary whose essays on liberty and free thought were so inflammatory that they ostracized him from his fellow countrymen, forcing him to die a lonely man (only 8 people attended his funeral).

Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist whose fight against racial segregation and discrimination ended with his assassination.

Mohandas Gandhi was a spiritual leader who helped India gain independence through civil disobedience and nonviolence (and who was also assassinated).

Hugh Hefner is a pornographer who created a multi-millionaire dollar empire by selling magazines with pictures of naked women. With 43 million dollars and a trio of young girlfriends every year, he is most definitely going to die of old age in the lap of luxury.

Somehow, I fail to see how Hefner compares to Paine, King, or Gandhi.

Demotivational Poster: Sean Penn

"...it is you [George W. Bush] who have misused it [your authority] to become our country's and our constitution's most devastating enemy....The needless blood on your hands, and therefore, on our own, is drowning the freedom, the security, and the dream that America might have been, once healed of and awakened by, the tragedy of September 11, 2001." – Sean Penn

"Every day, this elected leader [Hugo Chavez] is called a dictator here [in America], and we just accept it! And accept it. And this is mainstream media, who should – truly, there should be a bar by which one goes to prison for these kinds of lies." – Sean Penn

I find it interesting how left-wing actors like Sean Penn called George W. Bush a dictator while giving passes to real dictators like Hugo Chavez. Penn had no problem calling Bush "our country's and our constitution's most devastating enemy”—an “absolute evil” who had "devastated our democracy” and "should be in f***ing jail” along with his administration—but if somebody speaks ill of his socialist buddy Hugo, he wants them thrown in jail.

Ironically enough, people have been thrown in jail, though not here in America. In Venezuela, countless political dissenters, politicians, journalists, and even judges have been arrested for criticizing Hugo Chavez. Meanwhile, here in America, Sean can safely print an open letter to the president in The Washington Post without fear of being arrested for treason.

Bush may not have had the best track record with civil rights (the Patriot Act, anyone?), but at least he didn’t have anyone arrested for speaking out against him, unlike Hugo Chavez. Free speech and political dissent are the major differences between a president like Bush and a dictator like Chavez.

MSNBC FAILS 10 – Keith Olbermann Proven Wrong About BP

Fact-checking site PolitiFact analyzes (and debunks!) Keith Olbermann’s claim that most federal subsidies go to oil companies, and that the federal government could save money by cutting those subsidies.

PolitiFact - Olbermann says oil and gas subsidies account for 88 percent of all federal subsidies

Demotivational Poster: Newsbusters

Newsbusters

Yesterday marked the 5th birthday of Newsbusters, a website created by the Media Research Center and dedicated to exposing liberal bias in the mainstream media. Over the years, the website has targeted many lefties including Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Michael Moore, Mike Malloy, Bill Maher, and Janeane Garofalo.

I’ve been following the site for about a year, and as of now, its my primary source for news, considering I don’t really watch (or trust) cable news. So kudos, Newsbusters! Here’s wishing you another five years!

Demotivational Poster: Cropping

MSNBC: ObamaCare Protesters ‘Racist,’ Including Black Gun-Owner

About a year ago, a man appeared at a healthcare rally with both a rifle and pistol. The reporters at MSNBC spun the story as an example of “racial overtones” and “anger about a black person being president.” (In other words, people only hate Obama and his policies because he’s black). It was later revealed that the man was an African-American (surprise!), and that MSNBC had cropped the video footage, thus concealing his race.

Reasonable minds can question whether or not the footage was intentionally cropped to hide the man’s race; but one thing is clear: the juxtaposition of the cropped footage and the accusation of “white people showing up with guns” does reveal MSNBC’s underlying bias and race-baiting nature towards opponents of Obama.

For a hilarious take on this story, please watch my video: MSNBC FAILS 01 - Reporters Edit Gun-Toting Protestor

Demotivational Poster: Deja Vu

Déjà vu

Earlier this year, right-wing pundit Sean Hannity released a book called “Conservative Victory,” in which he complains about how Obama is screwing up the White House, how Democrats are pushing their left-wing agenda on America, and how Republicans need to fight to take the country back.

Strangely enough, while probing the library, I noticed a book written four years ago by left-wing pundit James Carville titled “Take It Back,” in which he complains about how George W. Bush is screwing up the White House, how Republicans are pushing their right-wing agenda on America, and how Democrats need to fight to take the country back.

Funny how the party no longer in power complains about needing to take their country back!

Demotivational Posters and MSNBC FAILS!

As I mentioned in a previous post, my blog will now primarily be used to host my demotivational posters. I plan to create a new poster every Tuesday and Thursday (and occasionally Sunday). I will continue uploading my posters to Deviantart, but to prevent any more from being removed, they will only be available for 48 hours after being uploaded. Afterwards, they will be replaced with a censored version. All posters are available on my Photobucket gallery.

Since it’s been well over three months since I uploaded anything to YouTube, I also plan on reviving my “MSNBC Fails” video series. I plan to upload a new video on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. This Friday, I will begin by uploading not one, not two, but three “MSNBC Fails” videos.

YouTube: DID I FORGET SOMETHING?

In my video "MSNBC FAILS 02 - Maddow Claims Constitution Doesn't Have A Preamble," did I forget to mention that Minorty Leader John Boehner was reading from the Declaration of Independence rather than the Constitution?

Demotivational Poster: Spam

Economic Guru 'Dr. Doom' Advises People Buy Spam Not Gold

Gold has no intrinsic value, and if you're really worried about say inflation rising, I would buy Spam. You know, you can eat Spam, you cannot eat gold. - Nouriel Roubini

I heard this quote about two months ago (on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” no less). It was so ridiculous, it deserved its own demotivational poster.

Seriously, how can “intellectuals” be so stupid?
