How can we avoid the fiscal cliff without cutting spending or raising taxes? By slashing politician salaries, of course!
While Democrats complain about how CEOs earn too much, and Republicans complain about how welfare recipients earn too much, I think both sides can agree that our politicians earn too much, and that the best thing for them to do during these desperate times is to cut their own salaries.
Of course, don't expect Washington politicians to agree to any salary cuts anytime soon. They'd much rather have you make sacrifices by having your taxes raised or your public services cut rather than accept any sacrifices themselves.
So exactly why do we call these people public servants when they only serve themselves and their special interest donors?
