Throwback Thursday: Good Burger
Before he started performing sketch comedy as an adult on Saturday Night Live, Kenan Thompson was performing sketch comedy as a teenager on All That!, one of the best comedy shows on Nickelodeon back in the 90s. I would even say that some of the old sketches from All That! vastly surpass those currently being performed on SNL! Then again, it’s been a good decade since I’ve even watched SNL. Who even watches that show anymore?
Anyway, Kenan Thompson and his All That! co-star, Kel Mitchell, recently reunited on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to reprise their former acting roles to perform a new act of a classic sketch, Good Burger!
I have to say that I’m quite impressed with this sketch. They managed to recreate the layout of the old Good Burger set, and despite both actors having aged a good 20 years, they’re still able to play their parts just as well as they did back in their youth.
Though I have to question how Ed managed to obtain the role of supervisor. Would anyone seriously place the control of a fast food eatery into the hands of some hapless hooligan who thinks putting grapes in their nose and singing “bloopity-bloopity” constitutes cutting-edge comedy?
