Nightly Frights: Ghost
Tonight, we conclude this month on a lighter note with something a little more, well, light-hearted.
I’m sure most of you know who Mystery Ben is. If not, he’s an animator who’s famous for creating animated music videos (especially PMVs based off of Rhythm Heaven). One of his music videos is based on a song by The Mystery Skulls, "Money."
Well, as you may have guessed, the music video was unofficial, and when the original artists learned about it, they did what any other money-grubbing music artist would do and flag the video for copyright infringement.
Or at least that’s what the Mystery Skulls would do if they were like any other music artist. They are not, and so that’s not what they did.
Instead, they loved the music video so much that they contacted him and commissioned him to create another music video for their song, "Ghost". The band already had a live-action music video based upon that song, but the animated music video quickly became so popular that it has more views than the original.
And that is what can happen when music producers allow for artistic liberty with their music!
The music video itself is cute enough. It starts out innocently enough as yet another Scooby-Doo parody before taking a much darker (if not more depressing) twist. Watch for yourself:
