Nightly Frights: Just Delicious

You’re a battered housewife. Your husband purchased a fresh slab of liver from the butcher. He wants you to prepare it for dinner, and it better be good—or else! So you cook the liver while he’s at work. You decide to try a bite to see if it’s good. It is. It’s more than good: it’s heavenly! You decide to try another bite. And another. And another. And then—oh no! You’ve eaten all of the liver! Your husband will be home shortly, and you don’t have the time or money to buy another liver. You look out your window at the church across the street. You’ve heard that there’s a body being housed there for a funeral tomorrow. It’s then you come up with a creative (if not, desperate) idea.

Initially, I was going to post the original text and dramatic reading from Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, but while searching for it, I stumbled across this animated short. What I love most about this animation is how it manages to tell the story without any dialogue, which gives it an especially more eerie vibe. Also, unlike the original story, this one has a happy ending!
