Word to the wise: if you go to a new town, and everyone there tells you not to stay out at night because seventeen other people have been found dead? Do. Not. Go. Out! And especially don’t go to the only restaurant open at night. You do not want to go in there. Not because the food is bad, mind you, but because—well, it’s better if you didn’t know. Too bad Harold here in this comic had to find out the hard way. You could even say it was a real pain in the neck for him!
Interestingly enough, this was one of five other horror comics that were adapted into a live-action 1973 film, Vault of Horror. Yes, Tales from the Crypt stories were adapted into live action well before the HBO series—and somehow, the fact that this was a British film makes it all the classier. The Brits can make anything classy, even raunchy American pulp comics! (And especially since this movie stars the Fourth Doctor!)
