Fan Art Friday: MLP Disney Princesses

I don't think it's any surprise that I'm a brony. (If it is, then you obviously haven't been following me for the past five years!) So of course I was going to have one of these Disney-themed Fan Art Fridays showcasing Disney-related MLP fan art!

Interestingly enough, there's been rumors (and only rumors) that Disney is going to purchase Hasbro. If that were the case (which it's not), would that make the Alicorn Princesses...Disney Princesses? First Leia, then Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Twilight? Does Disney simply want to by all of the princesses? At this point, they might as well trademark the word "princess." Why not? Candy Crush tried to trademark the word "Candy"!

First off, some fan art of the Mane Six and Cutie Mark Crusaders as Disney princesses and characters. I think most of these references are spot on.

The only exception is Rainbow Dash. It seems difficult casting her as a Disney Princess, as there's not that many "badass" princesses that match her personality. Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire seems to be the best fit here, though she would have also done well as Mulan or Merida.

Here's a collection of fan art with each of the Mane 6 with their respective Disney Princess counterpart. Again, most of them are spot on, especially now that Dash is paired with Megera from Hercules:

Now here's the entire Disney Princess line as ponies--and most fittingly, as alicorns!

And finally, as a nice nod to the past, here are the Disney Princesses with the original Gen 1 MLP. The first generation may not have been perfect, but it was light years better than Gen 3, amirite?!
