VGM Monday: KH Tron World Music
Most other Kingdom Hearts fans would list their Top 10 favorite world and battle themes, but for this installment of VGM Monday, I’m simply going to skip to the punch and share my all-time favorite world and battle theme from my all-time favorite KH world: Space Paranoids.
Kingdom Hearts 2 really pushed the envelope for what kind of content the games could provide. The first game had restrained itself to traversing only the animated portion of the Disney universe with worlds based off of Disney animated movies. The second installment showed that live-action movies were of equal consideration, with worlds based off of Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron.
Tron isn’t my all-time favorite Disney live-action movie, but it certainly is on my Top 10 list. What I really love about the world based off of the movie, Space Paranoids, is how much it really feels like you’re inside a computer, from the entire setting to the clothing.
Most certainly does the music match the atmosphere, as not only do the world and battle themes sound like they were created by a computer (which, of course, they were) but were ripped straight out of the movie’s original soundtrack. Seriously, listen to the original's movie soundtrack and the world music back-to-back and they almost sound eerily similar.

Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance saw a return to Tron with a world based off the 2010 sequel, Tron: Legacy, called The Grid. While the world and battle themes for the original Tron world matched the synthetic compositions of the original movie’s soundtrack, the world and battle themes for The Grid match the electronica compositions of Legacy. Yoko Shimomura may not be Daft Punk, but she can surely emulate their style:
