Disney Sunday: Robin Hood Fan Art (Belated) Friday
I wasn’t able to post a Fan Art Friday last week (for reasons I’ll mention next week), but since the fan art was all Disney related, I decided to feature it for this week’s Disney Sunday instead.
A few weeks ago was the deadline for us all to pay our taxes. As such, I couldn’t think of a more apropos movie for a fan art feature than Disney’s Robin Hood, one of my childhood favorites!
So let’s all sing “oo-de-lally, oo-de-lally, golly, what a day” as we dream of having our taxpayer money inevitably refunded to us as we showcase some Robin Hood fan art.
Sometimes I wonder if all the Disney characters live in the same universe as one another. If so, I’d feel sorry for Scrooge McDuck here, who not only has to worry about his money bin being pilfered by the Beagle Boys, but also by the thief who thinks that his wealth should be “redistributed” to the poor.
Robin Hood and Zootopia comparisons were only inevitable, especially since the creator of Zootopia was inspired by the former, what with it being one of his favorite movies. Also, the resemblance between the two foxes are pretty much spot one, almost as if Nick Wilde were the descendent of good old Robbie!
Looks like Robin Hood is going Assassin’s Creed. Great! Now I’m dying for Disney to create an Assassin’s Creed-like game based off of Robin Hood. Think of it as a more intense version of Sly Cooper.
Here we see the West transform into the East. Speaking of which, did you know that the Japanese have a character equivilent to Robin Hood called Ishikawa Goemon? Of course, the only reason I know that is because of the Hamtaro episode based on him. (Which in the English dub was turned into Robin Hood.)
If there’s one fault with the Disney version, it’s that Maid Marian doesn’t really do much as a character, aside from acting as Robin’s love interest. Personally, I’d love to see the movie remade and have her become a more proactive character. After all, she did help Robin in his quest to take from the rich and give to the poor. What good is a passive female character in that regard?
Um, wow! It looks as though Marian here discovered some exotic “clothes” from the East thanks to some Silk Road merchants. Perhaps she has this picked out for her honeymoon. It would certainly make for an interesting first night with Robin.
