The obvious answer is no, no it isn’t. Moana is a great movie—not as great as Zootopia, but still a great movie nonetheless. However, it’s quite refreshing to hear a contrary opinion now and then.
There’s only so many times you can hear people praise a movie for being “perfect” and “flawless.” Sometimes it’s great to hear someone actually admit that, no, that movie everyone claims is “perfect” and “flawless” does indeed have imperfections and flaws.
After all, if we accept everything we love as “perfect”, then we don’t feel a need to change. And if we don’t change, we never progress. We end up stagnating. And we should never accept stagnation!
So that’s why I (sort of) love Hot Diggedy Demon’s new video criticizing Moana as terrible. Do I agree with him? No. Do I even agree with any of his points? Not really. But you can’t deny that the movie, while good, isn’t as great as everyone claims it is, and it’s nice to actually hear people say that:
